House Passes Nearly $100 Billion in Aid for Ukraine, Israel... Nothing for National Border
Foreign Wars, Foreign Flags, and the Duplicity of Politicians
"Only Americans can hurt America."
~ Dwight D. Eisenhower
Over the weekend, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to give $95 billion to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
The lion's share of that amount, $61 billion, will go to Ukraine.
Israel is set to receive $26 billion, while Taiwan will be getting $8 billion from us taxpayers.
Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, the big cheese among Republicans in Congress, referred to himself as a "war-time speaker."
Indeed, we are at war. But not with Hamas, Russia, Iran, or China. We are at war with ourselves.
But hey, at least you can take comfort in knowing that funding for the military-industrial complex won't be drying up anytime soon.
This video of House Representatives cheerfully celebrating the passage of a $95 billion bill to help fund Foreign Wars by waving a Ukrainian flag left many on social media angry and confused. Feast your eyes:
No, you're not seeing things — nearing $35 trillion in debt, roughly 122% of GDP, with deficits spiraling out of control, and there they are, cheerfully waving a foreign flag right in the halls of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Luckily, there’s a simple way to find out who your “heroes” are. You can use this link to discover whether your state representative voted for or against the bill.
Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go to Work?
Now, let’s quickly zoom in on exactly on where your tax dollars are going... Due to space limits, I'll just focus on Ukraine, since that’s the biggest chunk.
Out of nearly $61 billion heading Ukraine's way, $23 billion is for restocking U.S. weapons and facilities. Another $4 billion goes to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, a program led by the U.S. Department of State that helps train Ukraine's military and provides equipment and advisory support.
Now, here's where it gets interesting: more than $11 billion will fund current U.S. military operations in the region.
I don't have all the details, but it definitely sounds like something that could push us toward an all-out war.
Keep in mind that the House also voted to provide Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles to enable it to strike deeper into the Russian territory.
Finally, there’s also another $8 billion earmarked for non-military assistance, including helping Ukraine's government pay salaries.
When you toss in this newly approved $61 billion with what the U.S. has already sent Ukraine in military aid, our annual support for Ukraine's military already tops what we spent in Afghanistan and Vietnam. See the chart below for a clear picture.
Again, that's just on an annual basis...
Don't forget, since February of 2022, when the war started, Ukraine has already received over $200 billion (excluding the current $61 billion) in aid from the U.S.
To put this into perspective, consider that Israel has received about $300 billion in U.S. foreign aid, covering both economic and military assistance, since its founding in 1948. And that's over a span of 76 years.
What about America?
As I processed this news, I couldn’t help but recall another quote from Dwight D. Eisenhower, from his "The Chance for Peace" address on April 16, 1953.
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
In this orgy of spending on everyone but us, Americans - mistakenly - feel forgotten. While Ukrainian men are lost to the meat grinder, our leaders use Vladimir Lenin's subtler strategy here at home: “The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.”
Less subtle is the engineered mass migration crisis. Moving millions of unwashed masses into our neighborhoods is expensive. To keep the tide flowing, Congress slipped in another $3.5 Billion for "migration & refugee assistance.” These funds will flow to the same NGOs that manage the logistics for our border invasion. So, maybe I misspoke when I titled this essay, saying they didn’t pass anything for the border.
Indeed, we are at war. And, unfortunately, the Bolsheviks in-charge have the American people in their sights.

P.S. Times like these are precisely when you want to own top-quality resource and energy stocks. That means companies with a proven track record of performing well during periods of turbulence, and even war. These are the types of stocks we track in our Crisis Investing portfolio, all of which Doug Casey himself owns.
This is one of those pieces of legislation that leaves you scratching your head unless you have a good lens through which to view it.
Four months ago, Mike Johnson was playing the part of a fiscally sane leader. No vote on Ukraine, and no vote on Israel aid, unless and until we get a vote on putting resources toward our own gaping border! Made sense? Certainly.
Fast forward four months: They give billions to Ukraine, and billions to Israel. The former is being flushed down the toilet as anyone with eyes and a willingness to see knows that Ukraine has lost. Billions won't save it. Nothing is allocated to the border.
What changed? Nothing. So, why did they sneak this through over the weekend, like so much of the skullduggery these days?
I think it has most to do with the FISA legislation -- both what has existed for decades, and the expanded powers they just gave the spooks the weekend before this.
In a word: I wager that most of these Congress people are compromised. The Deep State permanent bureaucracy has used FISA and similar tools to build out blackmail profiles on all these people and/or the people they cherish. When votes like this come up, they let them put up token resistance initially. It wouldn't seem legit if they didn't. But, when push comes to shove, they're told: You will vote this way, and you can continue to feather your nest, insider trade stocks, enjoy the perks of office, etc.
Or, this [photo / report / harmful set of facts / etc.] could come to light.
Your choice.
Excellent, thank you!
