a year after shtf, 99% of the world's population is going to be dead. Then it will be MUCH safer (at night) to tend hidden plots of root veggies, sprouts and peanuts. In another year, half of the remaining 1% will be dead, making it much safer (at night) to go scrounge what you need. Diesel does not go bad as quickly as gasoline does and diesel engines will run on seed-oil., bean oil, corn oil, deep sea fish oil The 3200 miles across the US has been crossed in 8 days on a bicycle, folks, many times. Any fit man can bicycle 100 miles per night., on pavement. So the issue becomes one of knowing where to look, for what.

WHY does anyone "think" that when the West goes under, the rest of the world ain't going with it, hmm?We owe them so much, they do so much business with us and in dollars,, that nobody is going to know which end is up. SE aisa does not have enough of its own wealth to trade with itself. Without the US to protect every ship on the ocean, nobody's sending anything by sea. Without such cheap, easy mass-transport, things are going to get 4x as expensive as they are now, to include food and most of SE Asia is already on the brink of starvation. When people can't even eat, they can't produce anything and diseases will run rampant. WHAT will they accept as payment, when all of the paper currencies collapse? WHO there has enough gold or silver to pay for their subsistence? 10% of the population, MAYBE? How many know how to grow food , hmm? how many have the seeds, tools and time, before disease, marauders, starvation kill them off? I'd rather be in a tunnel in the US for shtf, where I can have a silenced autorifle, armor, night vision, night sights, buried food. I'll dig that tunnel AFTER shtf, so that nobody will know about it. I'll stay in it 23 hours per day. One hour of each night will be devoted to accessing a food-bucket and cooking a meal, in a Dakota pit that gives off no light.

I agree with Emirates. I don't fly much even though I have immigrated twice in under 5 years. Emirates was spectacular even in cattle class. Clean, modern, sleek, the staff were polished, and just brilliant on the incredibly long flights. The attendants actually looked like they enjoyed their job even when tired. They feed you too much LOL!

Certainly a lot of opportunities for a man to have fun in Thailand.

Watched that Civil War film and found it to be both boring and outside credibility.

Social Security -- Govt will continue to cut the checks, purchasing power will be eroded to a lot of nothing.

Question - what do you think of Monetary Metals' gold and silver lease program that pays interest in the metal rather than in dollars?

Just a little follow up trivia. A friend, who is also a magician/entertainer once told me that Houdini died of an appendicitis after being punched in the stomach by a boxer. Houdini was known for being able to tense his stomach and take an incredible punch. On this particular occasion he wasn’t quite ready when this boxer punched him. According to my friend, the concept of him dying during a water escape attempt, is promoted by the movie edition.

While there is a bit of unrest in Southern Thailand ( but nowhere as severe as 20 years ago) there is no unrest in Northern Thailand, contrary to a comment Doug made in his broadcast from Thailand a week or 2 ago.

On all other aspects he is spot on. SE Asia is booming and the place to be for young entrepreneurs. And yes, few Americans venture here due to the 21 hour plane ride from the U.S. west coast.

My sojourn in SE Asia started in 1977 when I traveled there with my new bride. Quite a shock for a farm boy from Iowa. Still happily married for nearly 49 years. Best thing I ever did.

Alot of ground covered in this talk, which is consistent with your usual content. I love the contrarian nature of your discussions. Obviously, the mainstream media has been exposed as fraudulent, so these alternative outlets are the only place to get truthful analysis. You are frequently referenced by Rick Rule, another great contrarian mind I've learned a great deal from. Keep up the excellent work Doug & Matt.
